Two teens escaped injury when they were shot at after a verbal confrontation Thursday, a Salt Lake County sheriff's report said.

A boy, 17, and his girlfriend told deputies that he was involved in an argument with a group of boys while picking up friends at Taylorsville High School earlier that day, according to the report.Apparently the group followed the boy in a car that didn't have a back window, the report said. After losing the group, the boy drove to a 7-Eleven convenience store, where he noticed the group's car in front of him.

One group member allegedly pulled a handgun and fired five or six times out the missing back window. Only when the boy returned home and found the bullet holes did he realize the gun was real, the report said.
