Attendance at already crowded Zion National Park continued at a record-breaking pace last month, according to officials.

Park Superintendent Donald A. Falvey said 334,945 people visited Zion in June.Attendance rates for June were 9.8 percent higher than last year, Falvey said.

A projected decline in attendance brought on by the outbreak of hantavirus in the Four Corners area didn't occur, Falvey said. No cases of the rodent-borne respiratory infection, responsible for as many as 19 deaths, have been reported in Utah.
