SHARE DOWNTOWN ALLIANCE MEETS THURSDAY

The Downtown Alliance will hold its second annual meeting at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 29, in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. The breakfast costs $15, and the public is invited.

Robert Farrington, executive director, said the alliance will recognize winners of seven awards for improvements that made significant contributions to, or further enhanced the economic, cultural, social or physical well-being of, downtown Salt Lake City.The categories are arts, media, civic and economic development, restoration, special events, urban design and individual achievement.

The alliance is a nonprofit organization of business and property owners committed to enhance the development of the downtown area as a regional retail, commercial, and cultural center.
