John Strother Pearson, 51, died at his home in Park City, July 22, 1993.
Born October 4, 1941 in Huntington, West Virginia, to Dr. John S. Pearson and Mary Alkire Pearson. Married Margaret (Peggy) McClure, December 28, 1963 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He graduated from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis in 1959 and received a bachelor's degree from Purdue University in 1963. He received a master's degree from the University of Michigan in 1964 and a doctorate from Portland State University in 1984.He was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He was a senior vice president of Surety Life Insurance Company in Salt Lake City until 1978 and served on that company's board of directors.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy; a daughter, Kimberly Lynn Pearson, Bloomington, Indiana; his mother, Mary Alkire Pearson, Indianapolis, Indiana; two brothers, Raymond Pearson and S. Joseph Pearson, Indianapolis; three sisters, Kay Papaila, Lewisville, Texas; Ann Conrad, Cleveland, Ohio; and Jane Miller, Indianapolis.
A memorial service will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Indianapolis, Indiana, August 7, 1993 at 4 p.m.
