Sione L. Tea Fifita, 72, passed away peacefully at home, on July 24, 1993, after a courageous battle with heart failure.
Born August 23, 1921 in Koloa Vavau Tonga, to wonderful parents, Makisi and Melenaite Kaufusi Fifita. Sione married Liahona T. Tongi, May 16, 1950; later sealed for time all eternity in the New Zealand Temple, December 1959.He was an active member of the Riverside 2nd Ward. He was a former bishop who was very much loved by his members. He also served in the stake High Council. He fulfilled a stake mission and served two mission callings with his wife, Liahona.
This dedicated father and husband was dearly loved by his family and friends. He was so giving of his time towards family and loved ones. He will always be remembered by his big heart and great spirits during his illness.
He is survived by his wonderful wife, Liahona, and his only daughter, Melenaite Vi; seven wonderful grandsons; one great-granddaughter; four brothers; three sisters, who greatly loved and lived for this great and wonderful man.
The family wishes to greatly thank the many friends, neighbors and caregivers who devoted so much time and support during the many months of Sione's illness.
We all miss him and greatly remember him for his great wisdom and pride towards church and family callings.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 31, 1993, 10 a.m. at the Riverside 2nd Ward, 680 North Redwood Road. Friends may call Friday 8-10 p.m. at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East and Saturday, one hour prior to services at the church.
Interment: Redwood Memorial Estates.
