At least two men, one with a gun, stole several thousand dollars worth of sports cards during an armed robbery Tuesday.

A man entered the Baseball Card Shop, 2243 E. 3300 South, about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday and pointed a silver-colored gun at a clerk. He then smashed a glass case containing premium, high-dollar sports cards and ran out of the store with them, said Salt Lake County deputy sheriff Jim Potter. No money was taken during the robbery. "It was pretty clear he was there to get cards," Potter said.

The value of the cards had not yet been determined but was "well over $5,000," Potter said. An accomplice was waiting outside the store, and both men fled on foot.
