SHARE LOGAN COUPLE TO RIDE BICYCLE FOR LITERACY

This summer, a Logan couple will be riding their bike so that others can read a book.

Beginning July 31, Bridgerland Literacy Director Judith Keller and her husband, national champion cyclist Nelson Cronyn, will tandem bike across the nation to Washington, D.C.The ride, which they're calling Bike For Literacy, is an effort to raise public awareness of literacy issues and is sponsored by the Utah Literacy and Adult Education Coalition and the Utah State Office of Education.

The couple has contacted literacy educators and businesses across the nation to encourage participation in their cause.

Stopping on their ride, the bikers will be at the Salt Lake City and County Building, 250 E. 500 South, on Monday, Aug. 2, from noon to 2 p.m. The event will include a speech by Mayor Deedee Corradini and testimonies from literacy students, along with opportunities to meet with representatives from adult education programs.
