South Salt Lake Police Chief O.J. Peck received minor injuries over the weekend when his car was involved in a collision at 300 East and 2100 South.

According to a Salt Lake police report, Peck was driving through the intersection when another car entered and hit him. A power outage had apparently knocked out the traffic lights, and the driver of the other car said he couldn't even see the traffic light housings because they blended in with a nearby tree. After the second car hit him, Peck collided with a third car going the opposite direction. Officials said the city-owned car that Peck was driving was totaled.

Peck and his wife and son were treated for injuries at St. Mark's Hospital. Passengers of the other cars involved also suffered minor injuries.
