The March of Dimes held its annual "Jail and Bail" event at University Mall recently. More than 100 Utah Valley community leaders and residents were "arrested" to raise donations that will directly aid the well-being of every baby born in Utah - and the rest of America, for that matter.

Every one of the participants in this event donated their time and resources unselfishly to further this cause. Another 35 people volunteered their time to help with logistics.Along with the "arrestees" and volunteers, I would like to thank the area merchants who so graciously donated merchandise and services for "Jail and Bail."

The Utah County Sheriff's Department deserves a special thanks for all they did to assist us during the two-day event. Without the support of all these good people, our goal would be unattainable.

Utah Valley is a great place to live; there are a lot of good people here. Every time I see the willingness of people to help each other I'm amazed at what a difference each person can make in the lives of others.
