A Timpview High School freshman won national honors at the Future Business Leaders of America conference in Washington, D.C., this month.
Michael J. Fox, one of two winners statewide in the Computer Concepts contest, took fifth place in the national competition. He was one of a handful of freshmen among the 4,000 high school students who competed July 5-8 in 13 competitions including computer science, business math and impromptu speaking.Questions on the two-hour written exam ranged from computer history to electronic circuitry to technical points of advanced software programming. Many of the contestants are planning careers in computer science.
The FBLA is one of the largest student organizations in the United States.
