The drowning of a Brigham City couple on the night of June 23 has been ruled accidental by the Box Elder County Sheriff's Department.
Dean J. Christensen, 52, and Patricia Ford, 59, were found dead in their vehicle upside down in the Bear River three miles west of Brigham City. Ken Adams, Box Elder County chief deputy, said the vehicle was discovered June 24.Adams said the couple had apparently been driving around in a field next to the river and not seen the river bank in the dark. He said the car probably just drove off the edge of the field.
Adams said the state medical examiner has confirmed the cause of death as drowning.
