Albert (Bud) Rippon Birch, 72, died at his home Tuesday morning, July 6, 1993 of complications from emphysema.

Born October 11, 1920 at Devil's Slide, Utah to Ray Stewart and Nola Rippon Birch. Married Erma Lavon Kim on June 27, 1941 who preceded him in death October 14, 1989. Graduate of West High School. Bud was a veteran of World War II serving with the 101st Airbourne Divsion's 327th Glider Infantry stationed in the European-Middle East Theatre and awarded the EAME Ribbon with one Bronze Service Star and The Combat Infantryman's Badge before being honorably discharged in 1945. He had worked at Remington Arms Corp. prior to the war and afterward, at Fred A. Carlson Pontiac-Cadillac, TIME Distributors, and Gus Paulos Chevrolet. He was an active member of the Elks Club and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints. He enjoyed golfing and bowling, and his association with many friends.

He is survived by his father (age 95) and his sister, Marion Draper of Salt Lake; and his three daughters, Sandra Allen of Provo; Ginny Luthy of North Salt Lake; and Terri Hunsaker of American Fork; also 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild - and was loved by all.

Funeral services on Friday, July 9th, at 12 noon, Larkin Sunset Lawn Chapel, 2350 East 1300 South, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial, Larkin Sunset Lawn Cemetery.
