Curt Stevens, age 72, passed away July 6, 1993, in a Salt Lake hospital.
He was born July 18, 1920, in Richfield, Utah, to Charles William and Juanita Jensen Stevens. Curt married Florence Marie Ayers on January 3, 1942, in Evanston, Wyoming; the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Curt served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II, and retired after 40 years working for Mountain Bell. An active member of the Wilford First Ward, he served in many capacities over the years. Curt was a kind and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, whom we will all miss.Survived by his wife, Florence; three sons, David (Shonnie), Brian, and Robert (Carol), all from Salt Lake City; and two grandchildren, Chad and Jennifer. Also surviving is a brother, Harold (Melba), Kaysville (currently on an LDS mission in San Diego); and a sister, Leda (Clide) Wigren, Bountiful. Preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 9, 1 p.m., at the Holbrook Funeral Chapel, 3251 So. 2300 East, where friends may call from 11:30 to 12:45. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made in Curt's name to the Humane Society of Utah, 4242 So. 300 West, 84107. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
