An 18-year-old Salt Lake man has been charged with attempted criminal homicide, a second-degree felony, in the shooting of two juveniles outside a downtown restaurant Friday night.

Jeremy Hayes was arrested Wednesday and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail in connection with the shooting of Sammy Suluai, 16, Salt Lake City, in the back with a shotgun. Shots were fired from a car that pulled up outside a Hardee's restaurant at the intersection of 200 S. State, according to court reports.Suluai remained in critical condition at LDS Hospital Wednesday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

The second youth, whose name is unknown, received buckshot wounds to the hand from the shotgun blast. He was treated and released from Holy Cross Hospital Saturday.

Hayes is in the Salt Lake County Jail, in lieu of $25,000 bail.

A 19-year-old man, who according to court reports admitted to being the driver of the car involved in the shooting, was arrested Saturday and booked into jail on charges of aggravated assault. His bail was set at $1,500.
