Juab County residents may want to take a second look at the property-tax disclosure notice when it arrives in the mail.

Those disclosure notices will be sent out in July, and most residents will find the property taxes have been increased. Juab County Commissioners are expecting a record number of citizens to attend the board of equalization this year.A recently completed state appraisal of property in the county saw a large increase in property values. "The total assessed valuation went up $18 million," said Don Eyre Jr., Juab County attorney.

Appraisals on property sold in the county had gone up recently, with some older homes selling for increased amounts. Those increases had made the state assessment seem in line with the increases in property values, said the commissioners.

In addition, centrally assessed property had increased.

"I think people will come in in droves," said Ike Lunt, commission chairman.

"They will want us to ajust the valuations," he said.
