The Layton Medieval Faire, featuring entertainment and events from the Middle Ages, runs 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. today in the Layton Commons Park. The annual event is sponsored by the Layton Arts and Humanities Council.
Opening ceremonies and a parade begin at 11:30 a.m. and entertainment events open at noon. The fair includes a children's art yard and seven area artists will be attending, with the works produced during the day available by auction at 5 p.m.The Medieval Faire schedule is:

11:30 a.m.: Opening ceremony and parade.
Noon: "The Emperor's New Clothes," by Art Attack, a children's musical production directed by Lisa Miner.
12:30 p.m.: Performing artists directed by Mark Shipley.
1 p.m.: Juggler Jon Cook.
1:30 p.m.: Davis County Flutes directed by Nancy Toone.
2 p.m.: "The Lion and the Mouse," puppet players.
2:45 p.m.: Selections from "Camelot," Erin and Emma West.
3 p.m.: Wizard Paul Brewer.
3:30 p.m.: Musica Antiqua.
4 p.m.: Mimes Woody Whitney and Pat Hughes.
4:30 p.m.: Jester/minstrel Marcia Knorr.
7 p.m.: Musical melodrama "Ivan, Ho!" or "Days of Our Knights" with "The Emperor's New Clothes."
Ongoing: The Society for Creative Anachronism will present combat demonstrations on the hour at noon and 1-4 p.m. Presentations on medieval costumes, dancing, history and theater will be presented on the half hour.
