Esther P. Rockwood, age 84, passed away August 20, 1993 in Bountiful of natural causes.
She was born July 21, 1909 in Oakley, Utah, a daughter of Levi and Charolotte Ada Brown Pearson. She married Charles Perry Rockwood in 1941 in Salt Lake City. He died in 1949. She attended school in Summit County and college at the University of Utah, Brigham Young University and the University of Washington. She taught school in Summit County, Salt Lake City and Davis County. She was the librarian at Bountiful Junior High School for many years and then taught reading at the same school. She was active in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and LDS Church activities.She is survived by two sons, Charles P. Rockwood, Farmington, Utah; Alyn P. Rockwood, Mesa, Arizona; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers and two sisters, Paul Pearson, Arizona; Irvin Pearson, Clearfield; Albert Pearson, Salem, Oregon; Lee Pearson, Arlington, Virginia; Harriet Mulliner, American Fork; Naomi Lopez, Seattle, Washington. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 24, 12 noon at the Centerville LDS Parrish Canyon Ward, 610 North Rowland Way. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 North 400 East, and on Tuesday from 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the church.
Interment: Wasatch Lawn, 3401 Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, under the direction of Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary.
