Daryl Hall, once inseparable from musical partner John Oates, releases a new solo album Tuesday titled "Soul Alone," featuring the already released single "I'm In A Philly Mood" and an obscure Marvin Gaye tune, "When Did You Stop Loving Me."

The album is being billed as "a collection of compelling songs which take place on the romantic battlefield."Hall says he found the best way to move forward in his work was to know where he was coming from and use it as "something to spring from."

"Otherwise, you're just flying wide, and you're in the danger of becoming kind of a dilettante, moving from one place to the other, and just not really digging into anything."
