Commercial flights were barred from Mogadishu's airport for a week Saturday after U.N. commanders learned warlord Mohamed Farrah Aidid may be planning to use anti-aircraft missiles.

The restrictions were announced after a night of grenade and gun fire attacks on two U.N. military post and firing at surveillance helicopters, said Capt. Tim McDavitt, a U.N. spokesman.McDavitt said the restrictions do not affect military flights or flights by private charities. Only one commercial airline regularly uses the airport - Air Africa, a Somali-owned enterprise.
