A Provo man remained hospitalized Saturday as the result of a two-vehicle accident on south University Avenue Friday.

Earl B. Craythorn, 86, 67 E. 300 North, received facial fractures and an eye injury in the accident. He was stable on Saturday, according to a nursing supervisor at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.Craythorn and his wife Bertha, 77, were southbound on University Avenue at 4:30 p.m. when he attempted to make a left turn onto 900 South. Craythorn's vehicle collided with a northbound vehicle driven by A. Dean Roberson, 28, of Orem.

Roberson's wife, Joanne, 20, is six months pregnant and was a passenger in his vehicle. She was taken to the hospital for observation and then released. Dean Roberson was not injured.

Bertha Craythorn was treated for neck and back pain at the hospital and released.

The accident is under investigation and no citations have been issued, said Provo Police Lt. Greg DuVal.
