The second annual Aviation and Aerospace Expo, sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration, is scheduled Saturday, Aug. 28, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Salt Lake International Airport.

The east side of the airport will be blocked off and open to the public for hundreds of displays, balloon rides and a performance by the F-16 demonstration team. Admission will be $2 for adults and $1 for children (age 12 and under). The Utah Air National Guard will also hold an open house at the show and the Stealth fighter, B-1 bomber and many commercial and private aircraft will be on display.

Since there are no other air shows planned this year - at either Hill Air Force Base or Wendover - a crowd of 100,000 people is expected to attend. Last year's Air Expo was attended by 20,000 people.

  1. Fewer comments automatically sent to moderation (we hope).
  2. Lower tolerance for uncivil comments. If you encounter a warning that your comment will be sent to moderation, try revising before you submit for the best chance of approval.
