I'm beginning to realize what the colonists of the 1700s felt like when they were taxed without representation. The sad difference is our constitutional rights are supposed to guarantee this doesn't happen.
President Clinton asked Americans to contact their congressional representatives and tell them how to vote on the budget deficit bill; they did, but half of Congress didn't listen. They passed a tax hike despite the wishes of a majority of Americans.I think it's time to deal with the nonrepresentative tax-and-spend members of Congress as the Bostonians did with the tea in Boston Harbor - throw them out.
