Developer C. Dean Larsen has withdrawn his motion for an early release from jail, opting to finish his six-month jail sentence.

Larsen's attorney withdrew the motion Friday in a conference with 3rd District Judge Michael Murphy.Attorney Larry Keller refused to say why he withdrew the motion.

Larsen filed a motion at the end of July, asking to be released three months into his jail sentence so he could attend a family wedding and assist in his appeal.

Larsen is serving six months in the Salt Lake County Jail after being convicted on two counts of theft.

He has appealed a separate securities fraud conviction that carries a nine-year prison term. Larsen's attorneys will argue his appeal before the Utah Supreme Court Sept 9.
