DIRECTIONS: From I-15 head east to town of Konosh. Turnoff midway between Fillmore and Cove Fork. About one-mile south of town is road that heads southeast. About one-mile up this road creek will begin to parallel road.
DESCRIPTION: Starts out as a high-mountain creek with lots of pines and aspens near the top, eventually flowing down into the cedars and sagebrush. Fairly steep drops at the higher elevations. Ranges from 10 to 20 feet wide in most places.
FISH
RAINBOW, BROWN
WHAT WORKS
Good for grasshopper patterns in the summer and early fall. Always good are Royal Wulff, Adams and Elk Hair Caddis. Good nymph patterns are Price Nymph (in larger sizes), Hare's Ear and Golden Stone Fly Nymphs.
DETAILS
Lots of pools and runs, with some brush and lots of open areas for casting. Easy place to sneak up on the fish and toss a fly. Sometimes water in main stream is cloudy, so look at fishing some of the tributaries. When water is a little cloudy, it's a little easier to sneak up on the fish. Fish in the 8- to 16-inch range. Better fishing available to those willing to leave the road and hike upstream.
NOTES
Nice creek that does not get a lot of pressure. Flooding caused some damage to this creek, but rehabilitation program has returned it to where fish are doing well. There is a campground with picnic tables about 6 miles from town. Good stream for the beginner to the more advanced fly fisherman.
