SHARE DEATH: HISAO ""POTTS"" KANEGAE

Hisao Potts Kanegae, age 67, died September 4, 1993 in Salt Lake City.

Born March 22, 1926 in Salt Lake City to Shunsuke and Michiyo Oshima Kanegae. Married Mitze Sugino November 23, 1949 in Salt Lake City.Served in the US Army during World War II in the 442nd Infantry. Member of the DAV and of the Japanese Church of Christ. He retired as a foreman after 33 years of service at Kennecott Copper Corp. He loved his grandchildren, fishing, frequent trips to Wendover, and was an avid sports fan.

Survived by his wife of Salt Lake; one son, Vincent (Alicia), Salt Lake City; five daughters, JoAnn Kanegae, Mrs. Patti Harden (J. Randall), Mrs. Terilyn Walton (Barry), all Salt Lake City; Audrey Kanegae, Phoenix, Arizona; and Mrs. Jodi Matsuoka (Doug), Seattle, Wash.; six grandchildren, Dannielle, Cortney, Laci, Natasha, Tyler and Travis; three brothers, Toshio and Kyoji, both Salt Lake; and Kunio, Monterey Park, California. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Shigeo and Kongo.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, 7 p.m. at the Japanese Church of Christ, 268 West 100 South, where friends may call Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Interment, Thursday, 10 a.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Avenue & 'N' Street. Funeral directors, Neil O'Donnell & Sons Mortuary.
