Elder Dallin H. Oaks, a member of the Council of the Twelve of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will speak at a special fireside hosted by Brigham Young University's J. Reuben Clark Law School Sunday, Sept. 12.
The fireside will begin at 7 p.m. in the Pleasant View Chapel, 650 Stadium Ave., and is open to the university community and the general public.Elder Oaks, a native of Provo, served as BYU's eighth president from 1971 to 1980, and was a justice of the Utah Supreme Court for 31/2 years. He was called to the Council of the Twelve in 1984.
He holds a doctorage of laws from the University of Chicago Law School and served as a law clerk to Chief Justice Earl Warren of the U.S. Supreme Court.
