The Davis County School District will accept school transfer applications for one month, but only four elementary schools have room for transferring students.
Parents who want to send their children to a school outside their own school boundary for the 1994-95 year must file an application between Jan. 15 and Feb. 15.The Utah Legislature has required that districts provide transfers for new students into schools that have available space.
But most of the 65 Davis schools are at or above capacity.
At the secondary level, no high school and no junior high is able to accept transferring students. Only four of the 46 elementary schools have space for transfers: Doxey, Fremont, Tolman and Wasatch.
Those interested in transferring should contact the District Student Services office at 451-1159.
Applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis, and placement for students from the Davis District will have preferred consideration. Transportation for students living outside a school area is the responsibility of parents.
