SHARE ADMIRAL FINDS 4 WAYS TO BEAT ‘WOLVES

David Robinson found four ways to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Robinson had 27 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and eight blocks Tuesday night, leading the Spurs to a 108-98 victory at San Antonio.He fell two blocks short of becoming the third player in NBA history to record a quadruple-double - posting double figures in four categories. Nate Thurmond did it in 1974 and Alvin Robertson in 1986.

Robinson's triple-double was the 12th of his career, and second of the season against the Timberwolves. He made nine of 14 shots from the field and the line.

Trail Blazers 108, Sonics 99

At Portland, Rod Strickland had 22 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and no turnovers as the Trail Blazers handed Seattle only its fourth loss in 30 games. Clifford Robinson had 27 points and rookie James Robinson added a career-high 20 for Portland.

Warriors 122, Lakers 117

At Inglewood, Latrell Sprewell scored 29 points and Golden State fought off a late challenge by Los Angeles.

Kings 103, Heat 95

At Sacramento, Wayman Tisdale scored 23 points and the Kings used a late 11-0 run to beat Miami.

Knicks 98, Clippers 77

At New York, Patrick Ewing scored 31 points and the Knicks outscored Los Angeles 29-15 in the third period to hand the Clippers their sixth straight loss.

Nuggets 94, Pistons 86

At Auburn Hills, Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf scored 10 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as Denver extended Detroit's losing streak to 10.

Bullets 115, Nets 100

At East Rutherford, Washington scored a season-high 68 points in the first half and went on to win for just the fourth time in 20 games.

Hornets 95, Suns 93

At Phoenix, Hersey Hawkins' 3-pointer with 2:46 left gave Charlotte the lead for good over the cold-shooting Suns.

Pacers 82, Bucks 76

At Milwaukee, Antonio Davis scored a career-high 26 points as Indiana held the Bucks to their lowest point total of the season.

Atlanta Hawks - C Blair Rasmussen (back) is on the injured list (went on Nov.4) and will likely retire because of the injury.

Boston Celtics - F Alaa Abdelnaby (back/knee surgery in early October) is on the five-game injured list (went on Nov. 4) and is expected to be out another 2-3 weeks.

Charlotte Hornets - S David Wingate (arthroscopic surgery on left knee) was activated from the injured list. C Alonzo Mourning (sprained ankle) has missed the last two games and is day-to-day. F Larry Johnson (back) is on the injured list and will be out until at least Jan. 19.

Chicago Bulls - C Bill Cartwright (chronic tendinitis in both knees) is on the injured list (went on Jan.4) and out indefinitely. G John Paxson (sore knee) is on the five-game injured list (went on Nov. 4) and might be activated next week. C/F Scott Williams (strained tendon in right knee) is on the five-game injured list (went on Nov.4) and expected to be out until mid-January.

Cleveland Cavaliers - F Tyrone Hill (sprained thumb) is expected to be out until early-to-mid February. He is not on the injured list. G Gerald Madkins (chip fracture in right wrist) is on the five-game injured list (went on Nov. 24) and expected to be out until mid-January.

Dallas Mavericks - S Tony Campbell (pinched nerve in left foot) is on the injured list (went on Jan.8) and can't be activated until Jan. 19. F Randy White (arthroscopic surgery on both knees in the offseason) is on the five-game injured list (went on Nov. 12) but might be activated soon.

Denver Nuggets - G Darnell Mee (stress fracture in left leg) is expected to miss the rest of the season. He is not on the injured list. G Alvin Robertson (back spasms) was eligible to come off the five-game injured list (went on Nov. 29) and will miss the rest of the season.

Detroit Pistons - F Terry Mills (flu) has missed the last two games but practiced Monday and is probable. G Isiah Thomas (strained right arch) played 31 minutes on Jan. 8.

Golden State Warriors - G Tim Hardaway (major surgery to repair torn ligament in left knee) and G Sarunas Marciulionis (torn ligament in right knee) are on the five-game injured list (went on Nov. 2) and will likely miss the entire season.

Houston Rockets - G Vernon Maxwell (irregular heartbeat) left the hospital Friday but has been advised to rest. He is expected to be out an additional 1-2 weeks.

Indiana Pacers - F Dale Davis (fracture in left wrist) was injured Saturday and will miss at least several games. G Reggie Miller (flu) did not play Saturday but is probable. G Pooh Richardson (stress fracture in right fibula) is on the injured list (went on December 18) and out indefinitely. F/C LaSalle Thompson (tendinitis in right knee) is on the five-game injured list (went on Dec.6) and out indefinitely. S Ledell Eackles (overweight) is on the suspended list (went on Nov. 4) and out indefinitely.

Los Angeles Clippers - C Stanley Roberts (ruptured right achilles tendon) will miss the rest of the season. F. John Williams (overweight) is on the suspended list (went on Nov. 4) and is out indefinitely.

Los Angeles Lakers - C Sam Bowie (sore left knee) is on the injured list (went on Jan.5) and will be out until mid-to-late January.

Miami Heat - S Willie Burton (bruised heel) was placed on the five-game injured list (went on Dec. 18) is expected out until mid-January.

Milwaukee Bucks - No significant injuries.

Minnesota Timberwolves - F Christian Laettner (sprained left hip) has missed the last two games and will be out at least two more. G Stanley Jackson (sprained wrist) is on five-game injured list (went out on Dec. 20) and is out indefinetely.

New Jersey Nets - C Dwayne Schintzius (sprained left ankle) is on the five-game injured list (went on Dec. 3) and out indefinitely.

New York Knicks - F Anthony Mason (sprained ankle) missed Sunday's game and is day-to-day. G Hubert Davis (broken bone in right/shooting hand) is on the injured list (went on Jan. 5) and expected to be out until early-to-mid February. G Doc Rivers (major reconstructive surgery to repair torn cartilage and anterior cruciate ligament in left knee) is on the injured list (went on Dec.19) and will miss the remainder of the season. F Charles Smith (knee surgery) is on the five-game injured list (went on Dec. 6) and will be out until late January. F Cedric Ceballos (broken left foot) was activated from the injured list Sunday and played 7 minutes that evening. Portland Trail Blazers - G Terry Porter (sprained ankle) has missed several games and is questionable. G Clyde Drexler (severely strained left ankle) is on the five-game injured list (went on Dec. 21) and is day-to-day. C Chris Dudley (broken left ankle) is eligibl to come off the five-game injured list (went on Nov. 10) but is expected to be sidelined until late January/ early-February.

Sacramento Kings - G Spud Webb (sprained right ankle) played 38 minutes Saturday. G Bobby Hurley (two collasped lungs, broken ribs, major cuts, back and neck injuries) is on the injured list (went on Dec.15) and will will miss the remainder of the season. G Randy Brown (severe groin pull) is on the injured list (went on Dec. 8) and is day-to-day. C Duane Causwell (stress fracture in left foot) is on the five-game injured list (went on Nov. 22) and expected to be out until late January.

San Antonio Spurs - F Antoine Carr (stress fracture in left ankle), is on the five-game injured list and is expected to be out until late January or early February.

Seattle Supersonics - F Chris King (back) is on the injured list (went on Jan.7) and out indefinitely.

Utah Jazz - G Jeff Malone (personal reasons) has missed the last two games but will likely rejoin the team for Thursday's game. C Mark Eaton (chronic back ailments) is on the five-game injured list (went on Nov. 4) and out indefinitely and may sit out the entire season.

Washington Bullets - F Larry Stewart (broken right foot) is on the five-game injured list (went on Dec. 27) and out indefinitely. F Stewart was shot in the neck and stabbed in the leg in an apparent robbery attempt at his home Friday morning but was released from the hospital that afternoon.
