An elderly West Salt Lake man working in his garage was robbed at knifepoint Wednesday.

The victim, 83, was inside his garage near 200 South and 1150 West about 1:30 p.m. when a man approached him, pulled a knife with a five-inch blade and yelled at the victim to give him his money, said Salt Lake police Lt. Marty Vuyk.The intruder, about 20 years old, took a small amount of money from the man, took his car keys, locked the man inside the garage and then left in the man's car. The victim spent several minutes calling out to a neighbor in an attempt to get the neighbor to let him out of the garage.
