Marian Smith Nibley, age 77, of Orem, died January 19, 1994 at Utah

Valley Regional Medical Center in Provo, Utah.She was born March 6, 1916 in Springfield, Ill., the daughter of Raymond and Maude Davis Smith. She married Charles W. Nibley III on Jan. 2, 1941 and their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Her husband preceded her in death on September 11, 1978. Marian lived 16 years of her young adult life in Hawaii. She served with her husband as the Southern States Mission President in Atlanta, Georgia from 1968-1970 after which they lived in Los Angeles until moving to Utah in 1977. She was an active member of the LDS Church and served in various positions in the Relief Society. She was also a Provo Temple worker.

Surviving family members include one son and two daughters, Charles W. Nibley IV (Nancy) of Los Angeles, Calif.; Jean Hendley of Jackson, Wyo.; and Chris Jones (Bruce) of Salt Lake City, Ut.; seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22, 1994 at 11 a.m. at the Sharon Stake Center, 545 South 800 East, Orem, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, Orem, funeral directors.
