A Bosnian soldier helps a girl run across a street in an area of central Sarajevo that has been hit with sniper fire. Bosnia's aid crisis took an ominous turn Wednesday when Muslim civilians mobbed a food convoy. Six police officers escorting the trucks were shot and wounded, U.N. officials said. In the same village, Ticici, several hundred people had mobbed another convoy Tuesday and beat its Bosnian government police escorts. The attacks in Ticici were the worst by increasingly angry civilians who believe they are being denied a fair share of U.N. food aid. More than 2 million people in Bosnia are dependent on aid for food, medicine and other needs.
