Jack Hughes Swenson, 81, insurance agent, former state legislator and member of the Spanish Fork City Council, died Jan. 25, 1994, in Utah Valley Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
Mr. Swenson founded Security Insurance Agency and sold insurance for New York Life for 45 years. He also served as a member of the national President's Advisory Council. He was a member of the Million Dollar Round Table and was president of the Utah County Life Underwriters organization.He was a city councilman for six years in the 1940s, and from 1950 to 1951 was a member of the Utah House of Representatives. In 1964 he was a delegate to the National Republican Convention in San Francisco.
Mr. Swenson was a charter member and first president of the Spanish Fork Jaycees, president of the Utah State Jaycees and the Spanish Fork Kiwanis Club and lieutenant governor of the Utah-Idaho District of Kiwanis.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Spanish Fork West Stake Center, 360 N. 650 West. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Walker Mortuary, Spanish Fork, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery.
