As Congress returned this week from a two-month recess, one of the first orders of business was paying tribute to former Sen. Wallace F. Bennett, R-Utah, who recently died.
Senate Republican Leader Bob Dole, R-Kan., said in a floor speech Wednesday, "Sen. Bennett represented Utah for 24 years. His family, friends and colleagues knew him as a person of unimpeachable integrity, tremendous common sense and a great sense of humor."Dole praised Bennett for helping ensure the survival of American business.
"There were two things far more important to Sen. Bennett than politics or business: his church and his family," Dole said.
