An associate professor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University has been named a member of the board of trustees of the American Schools of Oriental Research (ASOR).

Paul Y. Hoskisson has been with ASOR for at least 10 years.As a member of the board of trustees, Hoskisson is involved in making decisions on funding, policies and overseeing American schools abroad.

In 1900, ASOR founded the oldest American institution of archaeological research in the Near East. Since then, the institution has matured into the W. F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research, located in Jerusalem.
