After losing $250 last month, a Nephi couple has learned telephone scams are not just an urban problem but a rural problem as well.

"The people were contacted on the phone and were told they could borrow up to $10,000, but in order to get the money, they had to send $250 to take care of the filing fee and other costs," said Police Chief Chad Bowles.The couple sent the money but did not receive a loan.
