Clarence W. Bauer, age 91, passed away January 26, 1994 in an Ogden nursing home of causes incident to age.
He was born November 22, 1902 in Eureka, Utah to Carl and Caroline Schrof Bauer. He graduated from Tintic High School and attended the University of Utah. He served a mission for the LDS Church in the Northern States Mission. He married LaVern Potts, August 31, 1927, in the Salt Lake Temple. She died March 23, 1980. He married Leonda Sanderson Morgan, May 6, 1982 in the Salt Lake Temple. She died September 29, 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Carl Bauer and two sisters, Daisy Hebdon and Helen Leonhardt.He lived in Eureka, Utah where he was employed at the Tintic Standard Mining Co. and as postmaster in the Eureka Post Office. He was active in the LDS Church and served as a counselor in the bishopric and on the Stake High Council. He moved to Salt Lake in 1955 where he worked in the Salt Lake Post Office, retiring in 1968.
He is survived by two sons, Richard Bauer and wife, Diane, Layton; David Bauer and wife, Janet, Worchester, Mass; a stepson, Frank Morgan and wife, Colleen, Orem. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 31, 1 p.m. at the McKay Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City. Friends may call Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 11:45 to 12:45 at the mortuary.
Interment: Elysian Burial Gardens, 1075 East 4580 South, Salt Lake City.
