Law officers apprehended a man wanted on drug and probation violation charges after he tangled with them and wrecked a car in an attempt to flee Wednesday.

Adult Probation and Parole officers tried to arrest Bryan Horton, 20, Provo, on Carterville Road in Orem about 11:15 p.m. Officers had arrest warrants for Horton on charges of distribution of a controlled substance, violating parole, driving on suspended license and improper lookout, said Provo police spokeswoman Karen Morales. After an altercation, officers said, Horton drove away in friend's car. Police were called in on the chase.Officers lost Horton until they found the car he was driving wrecked off the road at 2696 N. University Ave., Morales said. A passer-by picked up Horton and was heading south on University when police pulled the car over.

Horton was treated for minor injuries at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and taken to the Utah County jail.

Horton was also booked on suspicion of attempted homicide, evading and driving on a suspended license, Morales said.
