SHARE AIDS FUND-RAISER ATTRACTS SPRINGSTEEN AND FIRST LADY

Bruce Springsteen sang and first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton was honored at a fund-raiser for AIDS Project Los Angeles.

Barbra Streisand, Elizabeth Taylor and Angela Lansbury also attended Thursday night's event, with Taylor making a dramatic plea for an end to the AIDS epidemic.Pleading for a concerted effort to find a cure, Taylor said: "Maybe this year, because we can't go on meeting this way."

Lansbury sang a song from "Beauty and the Beast," and Springsteen sang the theme song from "Philadelphia," a movie about AIDS.
