Brad Otton, who starred at quarterback for Weber State last season as a redshirt freshman, will play for Southern California this fall. Due to a new NCAA rule, Otton will not have to sit out a year to transfer to the Pac-10 school.

Otton, who passed for over 2,300 yards and 15 touchdowns last season, led the Wildcats to five straight wins to close out the year. He decided to transfer to a Division I-A school after Weber nearly dropped football last month. While Otton will be eligible to play immediately at USC, chances are he won't see much action next year. The Trojans return QB Rob Johnson, one of the favorites for the Heisman Trophy in 1994.

Another Weber offensive star, running back Markeith Ross, announced earlier in the week that he is transferring to San Diego State.
