Lu Dean Olsen Sax was born September 16, 1902, to Beata Hansen Olsen and Louie Alexander Olsen in Emery, Utah. She died January 1, 1994, Bountiful, Utah.
Married to Ernest Alois Sax, December 24, 1923, Salt Lake City. She graduated from Mackay High School, Mackay, Idaho and Western Union Telegraphy School, Salt Lake City. Reared her children in Eureka, Utah, then moved to Salt Lake City, and has resided in Bountiful for the last 30 years.Active in the LDS Church. Member of Bountiful First Ward. Has held numerous positions on ward level, was on Young Women and Relief Society stake boards in the Santaquin-Tintic Stake.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Carol, her parents, five sisters, seven brothers, and a grandson, Rhet Bernhisel. Her husband died December 19, 1937.
Survived by Bethine (Dr. Harris G.) Bernhisel, Bountiful; Ernest Vaughn (Bud) Sax, Salt Lake City; JoAnn (David Edward) Manley, Renton, Washington; Marian (Dr. F. Douglas) Whiting, North Oaks, Minnesota; Jeanine (M. Curtis) Jensen, Bountiful. Currently sister and President Jensen are serving in the Argentina Salta Mission. She has 16 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, January 6 at Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main, Bountiful. Viewing from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, and one hour prior to funeral. Burial Salt Lake City Cemetery.
