Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, "Papa" and brother, passed away in his 78th year, January 2, 1994.
Born July 26, 1915, Salt Lake City, Utah to Fredrick James and Madeline Knudsen Dartnell. Married Melva Victoria Spjut, May 12, 1932, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Owner and operator of Dartnell Welding and Machine Shop for 49 years. He loved bowling, horses, and fishing. Former employee of Denver Rio Grande Western Railroad. Active member LDS Church and was known for his generosity to all who knew him and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife and children, Ray, Janette Finnerty, Sharon Coles, all of Salt Lake; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Jack Dartnell, Washington. Preceded in death by grandson, Danny and brothers, Elmer and Merlin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 6th, 12 Noon, Parleys Second Ward, 1870 East Parley's Canyon Boulevard (2315 South). Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Wednesday, 6-8 pm, and Thursday at the Ward, one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
