On December 31, 1993, Earl Edwin Hanson passed away in Logan, Utah.

He was born in Lovelock, Nevada on April 4, 1903 to Florabelle and Christian Hanson. He spent 35 years in Railway Postal Service-12 years on trains and 23 years in the district office in Ogden.In 1923 he married Virginia Hanson in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and a daughter, Olive, was born to them. Virginia passed away in January, 1955. He later married Mildred Akins in the Salt Lake Temple in the fall of 1955.

When he retired from the postal service in 1958, they moved to Bountiful, Utah where they lived for 23 years. Earl worked for the Davis County School District for 10 years. After retiring, he and Mildred enjoyed traveling and spent winters in Southern California. they moved to St. George, Utah, where they have since resided.

Earl served in many offices in the LDS Church and was a Scout leader for 40 years, being awarded a Silver Beaver for his many efforts in this organization. He leaves a host of friends.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred; his daughter, Olive (Mrs. Pierre Hualde) of Fruit Heights, and her son, Kirk Danzer; stepchildren include, Connie (Mrs. William Hatch) of Logan; Elinor (Mrs. Richard Cheever) of Salt Lake City; Jerry Akins and his wife, Connie of San Francisco, Calif. There are 14 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren He is also survived by a brother, Warren Hanson and a sister, Flora Belle Wiggard.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Chester Hanson and a grandson, Kevin Danzer.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary, 727 north 400 East. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday, from 12 noon to 12:45 p.m. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.
