Ronald Bentley Bleak, 74, passed away January 1, 1994 at his home.
Born June 26, 1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Samuel L. and Clara Bentley Bleak.He was preceded in death by his wife, Glen Zylks Bleak; and is survived by his two stepsons, Rhett Aucoin, Arkansas; and Rickie Aucoin, Texas; his daughter, Karen; and son, Samuel. Other survivors are a brother, Merlin, Oregon; sister, Mary Thompson, California; sister, Alice Lewis, California; sister, Grace Elorrieta; and brother Samuel, both of Utah; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Attended school in Jerome, Idaho. Was a Pharmacist Mate, Chief Petty Officer, U.S. Navy in World War II, and was stationed there during the attack on Pearl Harbor.
He enjoyed driving an electric trolley car while living in Missouri. He later married Glen Zylks in the Manti Temple and resided in Texas thereafter. He retired from Ethyl Corp. in Texas after 31 years of service, and spent his remaining years in West Jordan, Utah. He loved doing genealogy, missionary work, and served at the Jordan River Temple for six years.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 6th, 10 a.m. with viewing preceding at 9 a.m. at the Welby Ward Chapel, 8385 South 4800 West. Ron will be laid to rest with his wife, Glen, in Houston, Texas on Friday, January 7th.
In lieu of flowers, he requested that contributions be made to the missionary fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
