Leah Fitzgerald Smith, 65, of Logan passed away Monday, January 3, 1994 at the Sunshine Terrace after a courageous 14 year battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
She was born April 17, 1928 in Draper, Utah to Printess and Jane Kimball Fitzgerald. She was sealed to L. Jay Smith on June 30, 1947 in the Logan LDS TempleSurviving family members include husband, L. Jay Smith, Logan; three sons, three daughters and their spouses: Dennis J. Smith of Taylorsville; Lynn and Gaylene Smith of Centerville; Darren Smith of Logan; Leah Jane and Kirk Brower of Afton, Wyoming; Laura Lee and Steve Kynaston of Spokane, Washington; Julene and Todd Reese of Hyde Park. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; six brothers: Bliss, Paul, Printess K., Gerald, Perry and Nephi; four sisters: Maydell Ellswood, Gail Hill, Betty Ruth Bell, Orene Angel.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Thursday, January 6, at the Logan Central Stake Center, 1255 North 600 East in Logan with Bishop Ernest Knowles of the Logan 19th Ward conducting. Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cranney Mortuary, 420 East 1800 North in Logan and at the church Thursday morning from 11 a.m. until time of services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
