CEDAR MAN DIES IN CAR-TRUCK COLLISION

A Cedar City man was killed instantly Monday when his compact car collided with a truck at the intersection of U-56 six miles west of Cedar City.

Michael Devey, 37, was pronounced dead at the scene, a Utah Highway Patrol dispatcher said. A vehicle driven by George Renner, 73, also of Cedar City, had stopped at the intersection and turned left to go east on U-56 at about 11:30 a.m., the dispatcher said.The truck cut the turn short, and both vehicles collided in the westbound lanes of U-56, the dispatcher said. Devey was alone in the car.
