Spencer L. Kimball, the former dean of the University of Utah College of Law and son of the late President Spencer W. Kimball of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has been chosen as a research professor at the U.'s law school.
Kimball retired in 1988 from the University of Chicago School of Law. He was dean of the U.'s law school in the early 1950s.His career began when he was graduated from Oxford University in 1949, the second in his class as a Rhodes Scholar. Kimball became an expert in insurance law, wrote several books and has received numerous law and government awards.
He also has taught at the University of Michigan Law School and was dean at the University of Wisconsin Law School.
