Monica Seles, the world's No. 1 women's tennis player before being stabbed in the back at a tournament in Germany last April, announced Thursday that she will not play in this month's Australian Open. That means Seles will have missed all four Grand Slam tournaments since her courtside stabbing by an obsessed fan of Steffi Graf.

International Management Group, Seles' agent, said there was no connection between the attack on Kerrigan and Seles' decision to skip the Australian Open.
