Pete Van Hulten, 82, died on Saturday, October 22, 1994 at the Ogden Regional Center following an extended illness.

He was born on January 12, 1912 in Werdohl, West Germany, a son of Waltherus and Gertruda Mookhoek Van Hulten.On July 1, 1937, he married Christina VanEijnsbergen in Dordrecht, Holland. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.

He was a member of the Plain City 2nd Ward, where he had served on a stake mission working with the Native Americans, also a building mission to Germany, a mission to Belgium, and two genealogy missions. He was a High Priest and home teacher and served in numerous other church positions including the Netherlands.

Surviving are his wife of Plain City; one son and one daughter, William A. Van Hulten and wife, Carol, Plain City; Mrs. Steven A. (Willemina) Whitaker, Roy; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers and three sisters, Gerald Van Hulten, North Salt Lake; John Van Hulten, Rose Park; Dirk Van Hulten, Clinton; Mrs. Jaap (Annie) Van Craenenburgh, Netherlands; Mrs. Dina Oosterveer, Netherlands; Mrs. Dirk (Truus) Allart, Salt Lake City; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother.

Services will be held on Thursday, 11 a.m. in the Plain City 2nd Ward, 2225 North 4300 West, with Bishop Michael Skeen officiating. Friends may call at Myers Mortuary Chapel, 845 Washington Blvd., on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday at the ward from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Interment in the Plain City Cemetery.
