Coach Sonny Lubick said he is flattered by Colorado State's proposal to extend his contract by five years, but he is not ready to sign yet.

"I don't know what's the hurry," Lubick said. "I'd like to do this at the end of the season. I'm not stalling. I'm happy. I don't have any plans to leave."He was offered the extension Oct. 19.

"It's not a negotiating thing," said Lubick. "I'm very flattered. I think I've got to have somebody else look at it."

Athletic director Tom Jurich said he had hoped to announce an agreement this week, when the Rams do not have a game scheduled.

Lubick, 57, in the second year of a five-year contract at CSU, has led the Rams to a 7-1 record and No. 17 national ranking. His current contract is worth about $125,000 a year.
