Danny Manning scored 19 points on 9-of-11 shooting and the Phoenix Suns stayed unbeaten in the preseason, downing the cold-shooting Denver Nuggets 104-90 Thursday night.

The Suns (6-0) outscored the Nuggets 53-33 in the second half, finishing with 49 percent shooting to Denver's 39 percent.Nuggets forward Brian Williams saw his first action since signing a five-year, $12.8 million contract on Wednesday. He had 11 points and 11 rebounds in 35 minutes.

The Suns were without Kevin Johnson, Dan Majerle and A.C. Green, who did not suit up because of groin, knee and back injuries, respectively.

Hornets 117, Mavericks 99

At Charlotte, N.C., Robert Parish had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead injury-riddled Charlotte to its first exhibition victory.

Charlotte (1-4) played without three of its top players - Larry Johnson, Alonzo Mourning and Kenny Gattison. All three are injured but are expected back for Charlotte's season opener Nov. 5.

Dell Curry led Charlotte with 21 points. Hersey Hawkins scored 19 points, while Scott Burrell had 17.

Roy Tarpley, attempting a comeback after being banned by the NBA three times for violating the league's substance abuse policy, led Dallas with 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Bucks 114, Timberwolves 103

At Green Bay, Wis., Randolph Keys scored nine of his 16 points in the fourth quarter to lead Milwaukee past Minnesota.

Lee Mayberry and Todd Day scored 19 points apiece to lead the Bucks (2-5). Rookie Donyell Marshall had 19 points for Minnesota (1-5).

Pistons 107, Kings 91

At Auburn Hills, Mich., Terry Mills scored 16 of his 18 points in the first quarter for Detroit, which evened its preseason record at 3-3.

Mark West had 17 points and rookie Grant Hill 15 for Detroit. Mitch Richmond led the Kings with 18 and Walt Williams had 17.
